Door to Hope in Monterey County serves FFNs in South Monterey County, where there is a high number of indigenous caregivers. We offer playgroups, child development screenings, mental health screening for caregivers, and case management for individual FFNs. We help connect FFNs to any resources they might need.
The Center for the Study of Child Care Employment gathers data on the experiences of FFN caregivers. We are interested in how they arrange child care with families, their compensation, their needs, and how policies can better support FFNs.

Sutter County Children and Families Commission has offered Caregiver Cafes and most recently Stay and Play in partnership with libraries. Fresno Unified School District Early Learning offers Play and Learn Groups at different sites throughout the community for FFN caregivers.
Placer County Office of Education is supporting 44 FFN caregivers this year through its Family, Friend, and Neighbor Support Project.
Community Resources for Children (Napa) core programming for FFNs includes playgroups and caregiver cafes and a toy lending library, with support provided by one dedicated staff member. The organization is an R&R, AP provider, and Quality Counts provider so they are able to offer a variety of services through those different funding streams. Catholic Charities of Santa Clara served 42-45 FFNs offers monthly Pyramid Model social emotional trainings, First Aid/CPR classes, Mandated Reporter training, Parent Cafes, RAFT (Resource Area for Teachers) membership to purchase supplies — basically a Costco for teachers.
